Our
spring turkey hunts our some of the finest turkey hunting anywhere! Our
clients have always had great success in bagging there toms, and making
memories that will last a lifetime. We have several different flocks of
birds that are spread out over both ranches, so there are a lot of
opportunities to get your tom. The typical hunt starts out well before
daylight, making sure that we are in the blinds before the birds began
their fly down. Most blinds are located close to roosting areas, or
open meadows where birds have been seen in the last few days. As the
birds fly down from the roost we will attempt to call the birds into the
decoys. If you are not able to get one in close enough to tag your
bird, we will move on calling and glassing for other birds. After we
find the next tom, we then will set up the decoys and attempt to call
those birds in. We usually take a break sometime in mid-day, and than
set up for the evening hunt next to a known roosting area. Our hunting
strategy allows us to accommodate hunters of almost every ability. Our
hunts are for three days, unless other arrangements are made ahead of
time. This is a great hunt for parents to bring there kids on to learn
how to become a successful turkey hunter! Often our turkey hunters tag
out within the first day or two, which then allows them to spend time
doing some spectacular crappie and bass fishing. The cabin is built on
the bank of one of ranch's private lake, with another lake a short hike
away. Most of our turkey hunting groups have two to four hunters in
each group which allows us to tailor the hunt for that group. We will
only have your group booked at the cabin during your stay, allowing you
to decide how your day is planned out.
