Oak View Ranch is a working cattle
ranch of 2700 plus acres on the
eastern edge of the Nebraska Sand hills. Raising cattle and putting
up
hay for feed keeps us busy on the Ranch!
Grandpa Fred Uhlir and
Grandma Olga purchased the Ranch in
1956
from the Pospishil family. The Pospishil family created a pre-war
amusement park called "Oak View Park" which boasted a swimming
pool,
dance pavilion/roller skating rink, rodeo grounds, baseball field
and a
pond for boating. The park was one-half mile east of where the
Ranch is
today. They also built the concrete block
house, which still stands on
the Ranch today, using there own mortar block mold.
Fred was a good conservationist and enjoyed hunting and fishing, a
love he passed on to his grandsons. He created and stocked with
fish,
the lakes that are on the ranch oday.

Today, the Ranch is owned and operated by
Elaine Uhlir, her fiancé
Don, and Fred's grandsons,
Darin and Brian Uhlir and their
families.
Elaine and Don live on the Ranch and handle the daily operations.
Darin
and Brian have jobs off the Ranch but are the expert hunting
guides.
Having been born and raised on the Ranch, they are familiar with
every
hill, every valley, every creek and every wooded area. No deer or
turkey
can hide from these guys!
We have been practicing wildlife management and conservation for
over 50 years. The time, effort, and expense we have put into
Quality
Deer Management and Selective Fish Harvesting is paying off beyond
anything Grandpa Fred could have ever imagined!
We offer the best chances of any outfitter in N.E. Nebraska to
harvest a
trophy class whitetail, an outstanding tom turkey, or a Master
Angler
crappie!
With the addition of the cabin for our
hunting and
fishing guests,
or to those just seeking a quiet, peaceful place to relax, Oak View
Ranch has it all!
